🌙 The robe I didn't take off
A Tuesday, eleven at night, and the best decision I made was not turning on the big light.
I got home late, the whole day still buzzing in my head. I was going to do the usual: undress on autopilot, fall into bed, lights out. But I stopped at the bedroom door and thought: not tonight.
I didn't turn on the big light. Just the bedside lamp. And instead of collapsing, I opened the drawer and took out something I'd bought weeks ago and never worn — from waiting so long for "the right occasion". A red lace robe. The one I used to look at in the shop thinking "where would I even wear this?".
That night the answer was obvious: here. Now. For me.
I put it on in front of the mirror, the city lit up down below, and — I'll tell you the truth — I looked at myself differently. The lace falls light, it doesn't scratch (I swear, I was afraid of that), and there's a satin sash at the waist that ties and makes the whole thing feel like someone thought of you. It wasn't for anyone to arrive. It wasn't for a photo. It was just me, a hot tea, and that silly, enormous feeling of feeling beautiful on an ordinary day.
I stayed there a while I didn't count. Read three pages of a book left untouched for months. Nothing happened. And that was everything.
You know the woman who dresses up all day for everyone else and never for herself? That Tuesday I wasn't her. And I swear sleeping after that is different.
If you have a drawer with a "right occasion" waiting, my advice is: the occasion is today, and it's you.
It's half price this week (a good brand disappears fast in that range). If you want yours: 📢 See the robe →
